The World Surf League is planning to bring a Surf Ranch venue, Kelly Slater Wave System and an unmatched surf hospitality experience to Coolum on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Surf Ranch couples a unique surf hospitality experience with the longest, highest-performance man-made wave in the world that provides the ultimate environment for surfing progression and competition.

In addition to powering WSL Championship Tour events like the recent Freshwater Pro pres. by Outerknown, Kelly Slater Wave Systems produces waves for all levels of ability and preferences.

The Sunshine Coast is a natural location for Surf Ranch, given the region’s culture, history, and roots in surfing as well as its pristine beaches and commitment to environmental sustainability. The creation of Surf Ranch and the surrounding development will anchor a broader tourism development district that can provide significant economic stimulus and job creation, including a community sports centre, event and training facilities, retail village, dining experiences, residential development and wetland eco lodge, learning and visitor centre. It will also include the improvement, and contribution back to the public, of land dedicated to untouched riparian wetlands in support of the Blue Heart strategy of the Sunshine Coast Council, improving flood management, regenerating green open spaces and providing public waterways.

Inspired by Australian surf and culture, Surf Ranch on the Sunshine Coast would allow you to create your own experience through it’s innovative wave technology, surfing programs, coaching platform, competitive events, and unmatched hospitality, including overnight accommodations, and programs to explore the region and the broader world of waves up and down the Sunshine Coast.
